VOLUNTEER

    BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Interested in volunteering with us? Want events to expand to other areas? We can’t do it alone.
Chicago/Chattanooga are big cities and we all have full time jobs. Not to mention, we don’t know the suburbs very well.
The best way for growth is help from within our community.

So let us know below if you are ready!

Doggy Field Trips

Field Trips with One Tail

This is the perfect volunteer opportunity for those with sporadic availability or those want to do more directly with dogs, but cannot do things such as fostering. Just pick up a rescue pup from One Tail at a Time & take them on a 2 hour field trip! The last Tuesday morning of each month you can sign up to take part in RDMoC/OTAT Field Trips.

Animal Care and Control Doggie Day Out

Picture
Chicago Animal Care and Control is always looking for ways to give long-term dogs -- those at the shelter more than 30 days -- an opportunity to spend time out in the world in the company of a temporary foster companion.

The Doggie Day Out program will help to relieve the stress that many dogs feel living in a shelter environment. Day Out Fosters can also help CACC market adoptable dogs by posting on social media.
DETAILS:
  1. Dogs can go out any day of the week for up to 5 hours at a time, from 11am to 4pm.
  2. Day Out Fosters must make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance by emailing CACCFoster@cityofchicago.org (Monday through Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.)
  3. The dog must be kept securely on the leash at all times and no one other than the approved foster may handle the dog.
  4. Interactions with other dogs and animals should be avoided, and dogs cannot be taken to dog parks, dog beaches or other off-leash, dog-friendly areas.
  5. Please contact CACCFoster@cityofchicago.org with questions or concerns.
