We’re all feeling a little extra stress this week. This month. This year. This everything. Our pups are certainly picking up those cues. And if you’re working from home, you’re likely both getting a little antsy being inside all day. Ah, Chicago winter. Here are a few things you can do with your pup to change things up, give them a little brain and physical exercise and have a little fun. It doesn’t take long—a quick 10-minute or 15-minute session each day will do. And isn’t complicated—uses items you already have. It will build your bond, grow their confidence and give you some free time afterwards for that Zoom call or Netflix show on your to-binge list. Disclaimer: I’m a dog mom, not a dog trainer or a vet. Please consult with yours before doing any new physical activities with your pup. The dogs of Hinsdale Humane Society LOVE their beds, as you can see here with bonded pair, Sky and Rock. They each have their own bed, but clearly love to snuggle. Kuranda makes these amazing beds and while mostly indestructible, they do have their expiration date. Several beds have reached their expiration date and I'd love to raise the funds to pay for these beds. Each bed costs between $89 to $114, which is too much to ask anyone to send one full bed; but together every donation helps raise the total needed to replace the 5 bed we need which total $496.80 as shown below. Won't you please help us reach our goal?
Share your puppy love with the world or send a gram to your crush. We all know we love our pets the most.
For a wee fee of $5 benefiting Hinsdale Humane Society, you can download our cute Valentine's Day-themed social media bundle. Since we can't host events, this is a small way to raise SOME funds for our local rescues. It's not much, so play along! Hank’s Tragic Story
In March 2020, Michigan Doodle Rescue Connect (MDRC), a nonprofit dog rescue that specializes in rescuing poodle mixes (commonly referred to as “doodles”), received a phone call about a litter of puppies that were “free to a good home.” MDRC’s team sprang into action and rescued three dirty, matted, and malnourished springer-doodle siblings from an Amish breeder in rural west Michigan. |
